This vulnerability allows an attacker to gain control of the vSRX VNF instance if they have access to an administrative service like SSH either locally or through the network. It is important to note that this vulnerability only affects the NFX250 Series vSRX VNF and no other products or platforms are impacted. Additionally, this vulnerability is only relevant in environments where the vSRX VNF root password has not been configured. The issue specifically affects the Juniper Networks NFX250 Network Services Platform vSRX VNF instance on versions prior to 19.2R1.
